Practical Philosophy - 2

                "LIFE"

              

Life sometimes stings and gives one a poor start,

But then some simple gestures touch the heart ;

The old and the young come and play a part,

To rejuvenate and make one feel fairly smart !

             "CROWN"

            

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown,

Care is mostly taken to conceal a frown ;

So that the royal image does not drown !

In a world of white, black, yellow and brown !

-------------------------------

            "ABSENCE"

          

Absence makes the heart grow fonder,

It is something on which I tend to ponder ;

And quite often begin to really wonder,

Whether I need to move and go yonder ? !

             "STORM"

           

There is a calm before the storm,

Like the waters are out of form ;

This may not always be the norm,

As it's likely to be a mere reform.

               "WISDOM"

              

It's often said never judge a book by its cover,

As wisdom gleaned could be like a shower,

And exhilarating like the fragrance of a flower ;

That indeed is the essence of words with power !

                "CAMEL"

                 

The last straw broke the camel's back,

Isn't it akin to a box falling off a rack ?

Or a few extra potatoes put inside a sack ?

Excess stress is bound to break the pack !

               "WATER"

              

When Jack and Jill went up that hill,

They were lucky not to get a water bill ;

Now the times are such that for a fill,

The charges can give one's spine a chill !

               "STITCH"

              

A stitch in time is said to save nine,

Timely action is always really fine ;

It is relevant to experiences of mine,

Delays always result in many a whine !
