Practical Philosophy - 4

                   "INK"

                  --------
When the mind goes into a kind of blink,
It may be difficult  to react or even think ;
And the heart feels like it's going to sink,
Thoughts like these are not easy to ink !
      ---------------------------

                 "NIGHT"
                 -------------
When the night of life is hovering quite near,
The elderly appear to move into a reverse gear ;
Indicating there is nothing left now to fear,
Much to the chagrin of the near and dear !
       --------------------------

                "LIGHT"
                ------------
The quintessence of life is to treat it light, 
Rather than playing it with all your might ;
Many things one does get going all right,
For the rest, is there the need to fight ? !
         ------------------------

            "REPLICATE"
            --------------------
Nature in its myriad forms appears to indicate,
That making an original is easier than a duplicate, 
Since it is quite a task to alter or replicate,
Yet one sees many really  yearning to imitate !
          ----------------------

                "KNAVE"
                -------------
Is youth that time to play safe and save ?
Does one keep partying all night and rave ?
Such points are apt to baffle the knave,
It's sad when the end result turns out grave. 
          -----------------------

                  "SPOT"
                  -----------
It is sensible to be happy with what one has got,
Rather than being in a hurry to increase the lot,
Destiny could just come in to change the plot,
And quite suddenly you find you are in a spot !
        ------------------------

                "CLEVER"
                ---------------
At times life seems to be a game of now or never,
Where success goes only to the crafty or clever ;
Many  may feel such twists are going on for ever,
And that's why they are not able to do or deliver !
        -------------------------

               "PORTEND"
               -----------------
Some start to crawl when just asked to bend,
Sensing such opportunity as a real godsend ;
In career growth this is seen to always tend,
To propel many to heights difficult to portend.
         -----------------------
